Ten days after the royal wedding, Prince William and budding bride Kate Middleton have reportedly jetted off for a belated honeymoon. Their destination? According to a bevy of U.K. newspapers, including The Guardian, it's the Seychelles, a chain of islands in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Africa.
Though the newly minted Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had hoped to keep their honeymoon destination top secret, a spokesperson for the Seychelles tourist board has confirmed that William and Kate arrived at Seychelles International Airport on the island of Mahé via private jet at 7:20 a.m. on Tuesday.
The couple then traveled by helicopter from the airport to an unspecified private-island locale, where they are expected to spend 10 nights in a secluded villa. With 115 islands in the Seychelles, snap-happy paparazzi will have their work cut out for them if they want to get that honeymoon money shot.
One can understand the couple's yearning for a bit of peace and quiet after the mania surrounding their wedding (the hats alone would have stopped traffic!), and according to People, the couple enjoyed a previous romantic jaunt to the Seychelles in August 2007.
While St. James' Palace is not confirming the location, it does indeed look like the couple is now kicking back in a tropical paradise far from the prying eyes of the world and the paparazzi. Time for some well-deserved royal R&R!
